  I am not a member, but when my wife and I left our previous church and spent a year searching for a solid Bible-believing church that sought to do more than just preach a sound message on Sundays, Community Bible Church in Paris was where we wound up. The fellowship here is excellent, and, well led by Pastor Laborde, the congregation demonstrates a willingness to go the extra mile in living lives of Christian love and charity.
  
  Things that have impressed me about CBC:
  1. The youth group - although I disapprove of youth groups in principle, one thing that is good to see at CBC is the level of retention of youth as they grow into adults. A lot of churches do a miserable job discipling teens/young adults, but CBC is at least holding their own.
  2. Homeschooling-friendly. Not that they are unfriendly to families still using public schools, but a number of families here homeschool to better teach their children a consistent Christian worldview. It's excellent being able to fellowship with people who are more in tune with good, beautiful and godly things than the latest crud from Hollywood, the schoolyard or Madison Ave.
  3. Expository preaching and teaching. Pastor Laborde does a great job of teaching what the Bible says and really digging into it in a meaningful and interesting way. His sermons can be twice as long as those we were used to at our old church, but we never feel bored listening!
  4. Outreach - they maintain and encourage all kinds of outreach from supporting missionaries (and regularly hosting them) to sending groups on missions trips, to cultivating individual evangelism by the congregation on a local level.
  5. Christian worldview - Through teaching and preaching, the church library, activities and so on, visitors and members gain an appreciation for how a Christian life should differ from secular culture, infused with love and charity, and is empowered to share their faith, hope and love with those around them.
  
  CBC is not a perfect church, as we are all sinners, but it is a good place to grow and be discipled in our Christian walk. See you there!
